Education & Outreach
Ballet de Barcelona’s commitment to community outreach is defined by the belief that dance should be a universal right rather than an exclusive luxury. This vision is realized through powerful local and international partnerships, most notably with Apropa Cultura. This collaboration allows the company to bring high-quality artistic experiences to vulnerable groups and those at risk of social exclusion, ensuring the beauty of ballet reaches every corner of society. This spirit of service extends globally through their work in Rwanda, where the company has collaborated with the Ubumuntu Arts Festival and MindLeaps. By providing dance training to children in high-risk environments, they use movement to build essential social and emotional skills, offering a sense of hope and tangible new opportunities that prove dance can be a vital tool for global connection and positive change.

Complementing this social mission is a robust educational ecosystem centered on the Junior Company and the yearly Summer Intensive Program. These initiatives serve as a professional bridge, offering emerging artists the high-performance environment and stage experience necessary to transition into elite careers. The Junior Company functions as a mentorship-driven hub where young dancers mature alongside seasoned professionals, ensuring that the company’s artistic legacy is passed down with care. By integrating these young talents into their community-focused projects the Ballet de Barcelona cultivates the next generation of performers to be not only technical masters but also socially conscious ambassadors for the arts.
