Ginett Moncho Hernández is a former Principal Dancer of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba and a distinguished figure of classical ballet, with more than two decades of professional experience on stages across five continents. Throughout her career, she performed leading roles in the classical repertoire and participated in international galas and productions alongside renowned figures of the dance world, working with respected teachers and choreographers from different generations and artistic traditions.
Her repertoire includes many of the great works of classical ballet, among them Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and The Magic Flute, portraying some of the most emblematic characters of the classical tradition. Her career has been marked by a strong technical foundation, artistic sensitivity, discipline, and a deep commitment to the art of ballet.

Ginett has received important distinctions throughout her career, including Gold Medals at international competitions and the National Culture Medal of Cuba. During her training in Cuba, she was awarded the Gold Diploma and recognised as the Most Outstanding Student, reflecting her achievements both as an artist and as a student of the Cuban ballet tradition.
In the 2026–27 season, Ginett joins Ballet de Barcelona as Ballet Mistress, bringing her extensive experience as a former Principal Dancer and her knowledge of the Cuban ballet school to the company. In this role, she works closely with the dancers in rehearsals and repertoire, contributing to their technical and artistic development and helping transmit the stylistic and interpretative demands of classical ballet.
Her work at Ballet de Barcelona marks a new chapter in a career that now extends beyond the stage. Through her work as a Ballet Mistress, Ginett shares the experience and knowledge accumulated throughout more than two decades as a professional dancer, contributing to the development of the company’s artists and to the continued transmission of the classical ballet tradition.
