Joshua Winter-Wright

Dancer
Glasgow, Scotland

Joshua Winter-Wright was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and began his dance training at his local dance school before joining the Scottish Ballet Associate Programme and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Junior Associate Programme at the age of thirteen. He later continued his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, completing the BA Modern Ballet programme, where he trained in both modern ballet and contemporary dance and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance. During his training, he had the opportunity to work with a wide range of teachers and choreographers, developing a broad artistic foundation across different styles and approaches to movement.

In September 2023, Joshua joined Ballet de Barcelona through the Junior Ballet de Barcelona Trainee Program. During his time in the program, he had the opportunity to train and perform within a professional company environment, gaining valuable experience both on stage and through international touring. His participation in productions and tours during these first two seasons allowed him to develop his confidence, stage experience, and understanding of the demands of professional company life.

In 2025, Joshua progressed to the position of Apprentice, marking an important step in his transition from the training environment into the professional company. This period allowed him to take on greater responsibilities within the repertoire while continuing to strengthen his technique, musicality, and stage presence.

In 2026, Joshua became a member of the Corps de Ballet, continuing his progression within the company and taking on increasingly demanding artistic opportunities. He has performed soloist roles including the Philosopher in Tongues and the Snow Pas de Deux in The Nutcracker, as well as taking on roles within the ensemble repertoire such as the Amigos in Giselle and performing as part of the cast of Carmen. These opportunities have allowed him to continue expanding both his technical and expressive range.

Joshua is a highly disciplined and dependable dancer, qualities that make him a consistent and trusted member of the company. He approaches his work with commitment, focus, and attention to detail, allowing him to deliver a strong and reliable performance while continuing to grow as an artist. His progression from the Trainee Program to Apprentice and ultimately to the Corps de Ballet reflects his professionalism, dedication, and steady artistic development within Ballet de Barcelona.
